In May 2022,Hiroshima University and 7 other universities (Hiroshima University, Okayama University, Shimane University, Ehime University, Hiroshima Prefectural University, Hiroshima City University, Eikei University) will participate in JST's "University-Initiated New Industry Creation Program” and (START) Startup ecosystem formation support.

As part of our efforts to create university-launched venture companies in the region, we have launched the PSI (Peace & Science Innovation Ecosystem). The GAP Fund Program will be launched as the first and largest start-up support fund in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions.

The program aims to create university-launched ventures that aim for the global market, and those that have a high social impact and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs and the resolution of social issues in local communities, based on the seeds of innovative technologies from universities. The aim is to create, discovering technology seeds from universities, recruiting and selecting appropriate research and development projects.
